Position Scope

Site: Ruth Lake

Shift: 5 days on 2 days off (for local candidates)

         10 days on 4 days off (for non-local candidates)


  • Compile daily tire inspection reports
  • Communicate tire conditions to Maintenance Planner for tracking and forecasting purposes
  • Maintain tire changes in the Tire Track System
  • Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and courteous manner at all times and in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Tire forecasting and monthly reportingSupervise the day to day operation of the tires crews at each site.
  • Keep management informed as to day to day operations and any issues that may arise.
  • Secure and ensure proper deployment of job resources including ordering parts, requesting personnel, tools and consumables.

  • Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all new hires/transfers receive required orientations. Attend and participate in site specific orientations.
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections and complete follow-up activities.
  • Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is supplied readily accessible, properly used and maintained.
  • Review safe work plans/hazard assessment with crew prior to job commencement.
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
  • Ensure the effective use of the work order system.
  • Participate in the hiring process for new personnel.
  • Serve as a resource for the sites and estimating regarding tire issues.
  • High priority on safety.
  • Liaison with NACG site supervisors to see that all required work is being done in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Tire personnel are Trained to company & Industry standards




  • Five years’ experience related to equipment maintenance and heavy equipment, One year supervisory experience.
  • Mechanical related post-secondary education AMSA (Alberta Mining Safety Association) certificate.
  • Equivalent experience related to tire maintenance in lieu of post-secondary education will be considered
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills.

    Trained in CSTS, WHMIS and Standard First Aid and all site orientations.

    Intermediate computer skills.

    Excellent knowledge and use of computerized tire management system.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
