Position Scope

NACG will be at Highland Valley Copper mine doing the following work:

  • Earth Dam Raise
  • Stop cell removal
  • Hydraulic sand placement

 

Shift: 5x2 - 10 hr days or 10x4 - 10 hr days

 

No CAMP IS PROVIDED. Employees are required to find their own accommodations.

 

Responsible for tracking equipment and components, creating weekly maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance to the planned maintenance program through the work management system, and organizing resources to ensure planned work is completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate list of equipment on site

  • Keep equipment database in JDE current
  • Track daily equipment hour meter readings
  • Update Maintenance records with current Service and PM status           
  • Ensure regulatory documentation is current

Work Order Management

  • Create work orders as required
  • Manage Work order backlog
  • Ensure open work orders meet required standard, and status is kept up to date
  • Make updates to Work order descriptions post repair if required
  • Close out Work orders and send to Document control for filing

Oil Sampling Program

  • Prepare samples for analysis and reviews results and generates follow-up actions as required
  • Review and apply on board equipment monitoring data to identify machine health concerns
  • Work in WinRoast system to keep data current

Component Tracking

  • Update component records; maintains accurate component history
  • Update component failure tracking system
  • Identify warranty opportunities and prepares background information for warranty claims.

Weekly Maintenance Schedule

  • Responsible for developing and communicating the Weekly Maintenance plan in conjunction with maintenance supervision.
  • Ensure resources are in place to perform the planned work (Parts, Labour, shop space etc.)
  • Monitor compliance to plan, and reconciles plan vs actual
  • Monitor progress of actual planned work through shop and field visits
  • Generates weekly and monthly plan compliance statistics

Job Planning

  • Prepare job plans for planned work
  • Organize resources in advance to ensure efficient execution of planned work
  • Order parts for planned and found work as required

Administrative Support

  • Generate weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Support clerical staff in data entry and work order administration

General

  • Maintain a safe work environment in regards to all maintenance work
  • Provide direction to junior planners and aide in personal development

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years experience relating to maintenance
  • Industrial construction and/or mining experience preferred.
  • Mechanical related secondary education (Diploma or Degree)
  • Journeyman Trades ticket
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of Journeyman Ticket or Post Secondary Education will be considered
  • Capable of both strategic and tactical thinking with a drive to meet quality, cost and schedule targets.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detailed working knowledge of planning tools (JD Edwards, MS Office Package, etc).

Summary

  1. Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  2. Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  3. Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  4. Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    1. Breath Alcohol Test
    2. Urine Drug Test
    3. Fitness-to-Work Assessment
    4. Audiometric Testing
    5. Vision Screening
    6. Criminal Record Check
