Position Scope

NACG are seeking Grader Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

 

Site: Syncrude Aurora

Schedule: 14 x 7, 12 hours (paid for 11.5 hours) (Days and nights)

Accommodations: Not provided. You are responsible for your own accommodations in Fort McMurray.

Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)

Overtime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week

Hourly Rate: Up to $51.29 per hour

 

We are proud to work with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.  Successful candidates will become a part of that union.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 Years' experience operating 16/24 Grader M and/or H series.
  • Minimium one year experience in reclamation work
  • Must be able to read grade stakes and be familair with GPS.   
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal 

Summary

All successful candidates must:

  1. Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  2. Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  3. Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  4. Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  5. Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
    • Audiometric Testing
    • Vision Screening
    • Criminal Record Check

Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.

All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:

  1. CSO or BSO Certification
  2. Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  3. Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
  4. VOID cheque/direct deposit form
  5. Silica Awareness

Once dispatched the following processes will occur:

  1. Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
  2. An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  3. After all results are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site specific details.

Please note the entire On-boarding process can take anywhere from 3-8 business days.
